Latest Dark Horse Releases
Thanks to the odd behavior of Amazon.com, I decided to pick up the latest couple volumes of Berserk from my local bookstore. Even though I preordered these volumes ages ago through Amazon, they are not expected to ship until late July. You will probably notice that this is MORE THAN 2 MONTHS after they came out.
Now, before I write up my crappy little reviews on these volumes, I also wanted to point out that I can’t cancel my order from Amazon. What this means is… The BlackSwordsman is going to have it’s very first contest and ultimately I will be shipping those books out to some lucky Berserk reader free of charge. I haven’t really decided on the format of the contest… so I’m all ears. I want to do something simple that everyone can take part in like a few trivia questions.
If I were you I would make someone contribute something to the site to make your life easier.

But it’s true, not really fair for those who aren’t artistic.
Trivia seems really dull, and what AudienceOfBullshit said, we’re on the internet. And if it’s too simple, everyone might just win.
A drawing contest? Flat out creative/comic illustrations? I know some of you would say, “Meh, I suck at drawing..” But meh, wouldn’t hurt to try. :O Use the internet for reference pictures!

I guess with the trivia we could randomly select a winner out of those that answered all questions correctly.
Maybe something like, “Dress up as a character in Berserk” and submit your photo.
But Verses, you’re right, it needs to be doable by pretty much anyone visiting the site. I don’t want to exclude anyone, but want it to be fun too.
Another possibility I thought of just now was a quick 2-3 paragraph fan-fiction using any of the Berserk characters.

Why not just donate some cash via paypal to help with site upkeep and have that enter those who donated into a raffle?

Well art contest isn’t right i mean there tons of us who can’t draw good. I think best idea is quiz about Berserk or something like that where all of us can take part.
Amazon seems to be the last person who gets Dark Horse books in stock. If you want to get them sooner, even before they reach larger bookstores, you should order from Things From Another World ( http://www.tfaw.com/ ). Since it’s a local comic bookstore here in Oregon, Dark Horse seems to favor them and they usually get the titles 1-2 weeks before other bookstores, even before our local Powells bookstore.
