Well, I'm sure some folks have seen this, but I got a heads-up on this from Steven Cerritos, whom you may remember from last year for his visual poem "In Darkness".
The video is actually fucking amazing to me, what do you think?

I've posted this a few months ago on the boards. Anyway you gotta see the making of, on youtube too. It's a fairly big project which took more time/money then you may think. Awesome job of the creaters!
I saw this couple of years back, whoever made this did a great job, its definitely one of the best fan made berserk movie, and my personal favorite.
haha it aint no hollywood but it was seriusly nice, and the computer make stuff was awsome, just one thing though.
he fight in day light, against evil spirits? now that dont connect but still awsome
i think the costume is pretty good but i didn't like the camera angles =/

Hooollly crap this is amazing. Want moore! The Gutts actor even looked ridiculously like Gutts, it was awesome! As a diehard Berserk fangirl, I think eevveerrryyoooneee should see this. o.o

Seriously though, this is cool as hell. Somebody with a hundred million bucks to burn ought to float these guys a loan and see what they can do with it
ALright I admit this was the best fan made mvoie about berserk I have ever seen and probably WILL ever see.
however alot of things were wrong with it that I think I shoudl note that way if fans want to make another movie they can learn from the mistakes.
1. The actor looked nothing like Gutz. NOTHING.
2. Caska needs to be more tan
3. Where the hell is griffith?
4. Gutz doesn't RUN AWAY from ANYTHING! Why the hell was he running half the time? no. Guts doesn't run.
5. Caska doesn't talk to Gutz in his dreams
6. crossbow arm? where was it?
7. they need the forces song!
I completely agree BerserkBerserk.
Although i have been longing for a real Berserk movie for a few years now, i dont really see it happening.
I believe its a great concept, a lot better than anyone in hollywood has come up with in the low fantasy genre.
First of all, more people need to read it and it would need a huge fanbase for any real director or producer to take it in.
I have hoped and i still do that someone will do this manga justice and make a great movie. There is so much content that it could span over a trilogy but i doubt that!

Berserk must have a big fan basis if there are people making movies and BANDS abotu berserk. no joke. There is a band, ITALIAN, once again, trend? Any way, the band bases ALL of their songs on plot devices and characters of berserk. The band is an italaian power-metal band called, Bejelit. They absolutely rock hard. Bloodsign is my favorite song off of their album Hellsgate.
so yeah, we have bands about berserk, some one painted berserk on a building, tons of peopel cosplay berserk characters, and there is even a re-make version of the epsiodes that are in better quality.
Thus, what I'm basically saying is that i think theres a bunch of pansies putting a wrench in the machine because the thought of putting berserk into motion scares them.
before criticizing it in such a harsh way I think you should check out the circumstances, cause from what I've heard they didnt have that big of a budget, not sure though.. although, they didnt stay true to the original story or left some stuff out (or whatever you said) I thought it was nice.. and about "Guts running away from them demons", I thought he planed to intercept them...
btw @CyberNinja, this movie was first uploaded in september last year (at youtube anyway). I remember cause Led Production contacted me through their channel about the "upcoming Berserk movie", they even made a trailer so I had to wait and suffer for like two whole months before they uploaded the final cut.. probably useless now but heres the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BATIOSSWVus&feature=related
Over all it isn't bad what so ever, it was put together very nicely.

Agree with quite a few things you said, but Guts does run! When he does he is usually running towards something though, like a better area to fight, I don't like however how they made it look like Guts was running from something...always running to not from! But Guts does run lol.
The actor wasn't the best pick for Guts, and needed to learn more about how Guts handles his sword, but considering this isn't mainstream acting or filming for that matter, it was still badass.
The forces song would've made this film! lol
Chibivash I can totally see a berserk movie with that song I can see the lights going dim and then the BERSERK title shows up, then the opening song Tell me why starts playing. omg that needs to happen. and then the battle starts and forces starts playing XD I would immedietly be drawn in right there. A good actor for gutz would totally be Tyler Mane, the guy who played michael myers in Halloween by rob zombie, and he was Sabertooth in the X-men movies. It would totally work. Tyler is the Tallest one in the picture xD

well, i have to give kudos to the guys just for the effort...but really, the vid sucked. the guy who played Guts looked like a total nerd and Caska looked...well, nothing like her..

I agree that the actors didnt look like they should but i can understand that it was a FAN made movie and they cannot get it perfect. And it did look like Guts was running towards a better fighting position where he couldnt be ambushed. Finally the knife was amazing the attitude of throwing it was perfect, it seemed so natural as if it was a daily occurence for him. Additionaly i think that Caska wasn't talking to him in a dream but it was a flashback. He was remebering a conversation. Either way the vid was amazing all things consitered and sword play isnt realy studyed that much in the world anymore so it is hard for a fan to learn how to use a sword style that was never invented. And yes Breserk will probly never be mad into a real hollywood film cuz they cannot do it justice and also cuz they wouldnt want to do something so controversial (the whole god is the devil thing wouldnt work well in america with all the christians)

I was really agreeing with you btw about the song, I love that song! The Penpals song doesn't really fit, but it is pretty badass too.
On further note, another good actor would be Gerald Butler (from 300) I think he is a better pick actually because his build and darker skin/hair color fits the Guts image. When I was watching 300 all I could think of besides how badass the movie was, was how badass a Berserk movie "could" be if made by the right people and had good writers and all that jazz. The way I see it, with how big the manga/comic book world is now a days in Hollywood, it's only a matter of time. I mean c'mon they made not only G.I.Joe (which has a great cast) but DBZ (which has a decent cast, but will probably suck.) So I mean, if you take Berserk and basically make a trilogy out of the anime series, that alone would be phenomenal, it would be even better if the manga were incorporated into a film, but it is pretty long and I fear they would lose focus and end up screwing things up.

I thought it was pretty good up until the fight sequence. Seriously, what's the use of a Guts who can't swing his sword? Seriously, Watch as he starts his first swing. The way he heaves the sword. He's portraying a character that could swing the thing one handed if he had to with no problem.
Really, aside from that and a few other nit picky things, They did a fantastic job.

i was looking on a forum thread and i must agree to the other poeple that was on it and that was that no wrestler or american may play guts cuase, they cant act for shit and guts just isnt that buffed up and for the american part, that is probably just to fuck with the americans and guts dont realy look american.

I thought it was cool. The computer animation was awesome especially the behelit. I do have to agree with some of the previous comments. The guy does not look like he can hold that sword!!! Also they should have made it longer. I think they spent to much on the end credits than the movie itself. Well thanks for the post. I think this is the best fan movie we will see for a long time.
he looked funny carrying that chunk of iron; the real guts needs to be taller and have a much larger build. costume looked great though
Not bad stuff. I wish the sword swings had been more energetic and violent, but I suppose either the prop was not up to it or the actor wasn't strong enough to pull it off.
And Casca needed more tanning lotion.
But overall, pretty damn well made. I'd like to see a proper hollywood rendition of Berserk, but I have suspicions that it might just be too dark and violent, what with all the 72 flavors of rape that Miura put in throughout the series. But if you leave all the worst elements out, we as fans will never stop complaining about how "watered down" and "pussyfied" they made it.
Now, another, longer, anime release...that might be something we could see
I think all berserk fans would love to see the anime catch up to the manga, or go a little further actually. Who knows though, with how slow the manga is coming out, maybe there is a reason? Miura could be working on other projects, who knows...
Interesting fan movie. Not to be critical but I think having the camera attached to the sword or following the sword's motion was a really bad idea. It makes the fight look confusing and really odd. Plus it looks like the actor is really struggling with that sword. The sword may be heavy, but Guts wields it like an expert, he doesn't struggle just to swing it!

Replying to Chibivash's thing about Miura working on other projects -
Have you really looked at Berserk vs your average manga? The art style and requirements are so much steeper that it must take at least three times as long to illustrate every page. There's no shortcuts used like CG to make the backgrounds, and a lot of crosshatching and delicate inkwork that all has to be done by hand. It's going to take a lot longer than the average chapter of, say fairy tail. Not to mention the fact that the current arc is demanding the biggest battle scenes in the series so far...

And about the movie - I like it! Except Guts is so sloooow in this! They might have made his big toy sword out of lighter material so he could /swing/ it, maybe. And it would have been nice to see some ghosts floating around, rather than just those wheel ghouls from the start of the griffith resurrection arc.

Yeah, I think there could be few improvement that wouldn't even cost much: Dragon Slayer and Gatz's armour could be dyed black and music at begining would be taken somewhere else than WOW
hmm.. havnt seen anything as good as this >BUT< i guess its hard to find real charecters for something like this, Guts did look abit like him but in that scen wher he meet those.. eehh things on wheels he was far older and c'mon Caska doesnt look like that

This fan movie is awesome! With all its glitches, it is. For those who think other way: try to do something like this. And show us. Surely you would enjoy it! If I could do it I would, for my own pleasure.

Well not to start anything...but that was horrible.. I never want to see a live action film for Berserk and this just proved what I was thinking.

For being a fan based film with probably super low budget it is really a great job, althoug yes they need to get a better guts and he definetively needs to know how to handle a sword cause this one look kinda fake, anyways great work and effort!

Hey, if Quenten Terrantino (or w/e) got his hands on it I don't think it'd be all that bad! Since I'm too cheap to buy the Manga, I'd prefer that he continue the story after the series.

I feel like a noob for asking this, but who sings the song at the end of this song and what is the song called? I think for it being a low budget mini film and probably couldnt make it as long as they wanted, they did a very well job with it and it was amazing! It would have been cool if Guts just shouted "GRIFITH!!!" at the end of it or something....
