Before Guts can even touch Griffith he will need a lot more training. He will probably need to slash through some of the other God Hands before his final encounter with Griffith, how the Skull Knight will play a part in all of this though, is very intriguing.

The child has a link to Griffith I think because he used him to be reborn so the child just might be Griffiths weakness and I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow affects the outcome of the "final" battle between Guts and Griffith. Also with the worlds merging Guts will most likely become more powerful. I can't remember the quote but somewhere it was said something along the lines of "Guts spirit is much more powerful then this physical self" and if the two worlds merge then his spirit will merge with his physical and he will become more powerful. Just my 2 cents.

I also think you're point about how easy it would be for Griffith to kill Guts is right on-- thus, the question becomes how do you defeat him?? My guess-- to make Griffith not _want_ to kill Guts. To develop his character in some way so that his desires change.

I still think there's the possibility that one of the major threads of Berserk will be Griffith's redemption-- that's it's this link, in some way, to being the child of Casca and Guts (with his shielding response for her during the duel in the field of swords as an example of him acting out of character, in a way). I also think, in time, we may find that Casca will want to help Griffith "regain his humanity" versus Guts' desire for revenge/ to kill him. There are lots of ways to end the story that don't involve Guts "killing" Griffith with a sword. If history and fate really are a spiral in Miura's world, how do you break that cycle of revenge, except through love/redemption/ forgiveness? I dunno. Obviously, Miura loves chopping things up and big fights, but at it's root, that's not really the drama that drives the story and makes it so compelling. It's the emotions.

What I find interesting is how everything is finally falling into place so elegantly. Griffith has now come to finally secure his kingdom, but he has also initiated what seems to be the beginning of his whole "new world" thing. What I find strange however, is that there would be so much doubt amongst many readers over whether Griffith is truly the good/bad guy when it was clearly established much earlier that he is supposedly the knight of the apocalypse or something like that, which I am still somewhat confused by. If Griffith does intend to create the apocalypse, why go through all of the trouble of creating a human form, when he held so much power as a God Hand, unless of course the God Hand are either removed from the physical plane of life that Guts and co. inhabit, or if there are some form of divine rules that limit them. Lastly, I still don't really see how Guts is supposed to actually face Griffith and his allies in combat, unless this devolves into Guts taking 40+ books to pick off Griffith's top warriors one by one, which, well, lets be honest, would get old fast. I'm sure there will probably be some form of aide from the elves, whenever we actually get around to that, but it still feels wrong, Griffith could seemingly kill Guts without even the need to draw an actual weapon. Also, is anyone else wondering what Rakshas purpose in the story is, as he seems to be the most important of the "New Hawks" and apparently wishes to kill Griffith.

-Alright, so I am back. Now, this new chapter was good because Ganishka is finally dead. This is what I wanted. Now the new world can begin and Guts and Caska's story can take hold as well. This is gonna be good; At least I hope so. Griffith has shown his true form, but will he show it to the people? Would he even want to? It all goes down to what Griffith has planning depending upon if he is going to turn into a total fascist or slowly take control over the people with his power.
-But seriously, just make the Guts story ark come back. I want to see Caska return to normal and have justice be known!
-SKullknight tricked? His own weapon used for Griffith's plan? Can we fight destiny at all? Find out in the next CHapter *Neon Ge

Great chapter-- I agree. As an artist and storyteller, IMO, Miura always hits his stride when he enters the realm of the truly surreal-- great images here, and they actually mean something, tell a story, etc. There's only so many flying body parts I can take, no matter how amazingly well drawn they are.

As for skullknight.net-- yes, they suck *ss. I got banned twice, and then finally learned my lesson. Was I rude and snarky to them? Yeah. But mostly because they are so damn rude and dismissive themselves. Differing opinions are smashed with a fascist kind of attention to detail there, and any kind of actual balanced critique of Miura as a storyteller (warts and all), is _really_ looked down upon.

They're so full of themselves-- "Griffith no More" in particular. Ugh. I can't believe it's been a year or two since I've been there. Still makes me grumpy when I think about it.

I'm really glad I found this space though. Much more open to real discussion. This is pretty much where I go online to get all my Berserk info now.
