i wanted to ask if you know if they plan on doing anything with the berserk anime will tehy continue it?
I am not going to complain on how long this is taking but I just want to say that I really really hate and envy people who will be reading berserk once it it 100% completed and wont have to go though the waiting. And with that said I have no idea how people that have been following berserk for 20 years nearly as long have hair on their heads.
haha I agree with you, its like watching addictive TV shows and having to wait a week or longer between each episode and then someone else watching them all in one go, so much nicer.

Yeah, haha I have to agree! I try to let it build up at least a little bit so that I have at least a small chunk to read, but its hard! I never last very long without giving in and reading.
Part of the fun is eagerly awaiting the next release. Having the time to talk and speculate with friends, write some bizzare fanfiction or what have you. True it's hard to wait and sometimes you'll take a break. But you'll come back eventually, and that thrill of knowing the next chapter is coming out tomorrow will capture you again... or the burning anger of it ending there. YES THERE! REALLY THERE?! Chapter 306 is about 39 chapters after volume 31 my man. Volume 31 starts at about chapter 267. You've got a bit of reading to do. Enjoy.
The manga is called Berserk not because of Gutts, but because everyone goes Berserk when Miura takes his time releasing.

lmao i found a manga that is like berserk and the hereo is in sort of the same situation as gutts and when i finished reading all the released volumes i found out there hasn't been any new releases for about a year now and the manga is still on going so even the release time is like berserk the irony makes me laugh and curse the day and age we live in.

no offence but you can have the berserk manga in every freaking langauge for all i care, your still reading the exact same story over and over again so don't feel special, your just like everyone else who have read the manga. just because some1 like urself can put a perfectly good story on pause, grow old, dull and grey before continuing the story again doesn't mean every1 else will like that, they more or else like the story to flow all the way to the end not having to start, stop every so often, which can sometimes be a mood killer. oh and its all good in saying "i appreciate quality" but you need to know everyone has their own definition of quality same as everyone has their own definition of what beauty is.

I do not mind these long release times, but I must name my ultimate fear, which is that if it takes too long, some day for any reason Berserk will end, UNFINISHED! Lets hope that moment will never come. Miura-sama, please make it as quick as possible!

I wonder if people have died waiting for Miura to finish the manga. It really has been a drawn out process...I don't think it took Dante Alighieri quite that long to write the Divine Comedy.

God has a fart of eating too much lifeforce from humans, die exploding and destroys the world. Guts & friends are saved by landing in the moon that mysteriously now has air and is habitable. Griffit corpse is found dead with a unicors horn in the a$$.
Berserk is his life's work... not surprised if he takes another 20 year's to finish the story. I just hope he (and specially i) live long enough to see the end of this manga.

Hello all!
I think there is a possible that this manga will end within a few years.
If you think about what will happen, Griffith will become the "King" very soon. And we all now that the manga started with Guts travelling around and fighting deamons when Griffith was a king.
Miura has therefor allready "described" the time when Guts are battling during the "regin" of Griffith. And therefor there is only one "major" story left and that is when Guts is killing Griffith.
But, we also now that Miura likes to tell some sidestoryes, like the one with the children in the forest (boring and unessecary story do I think). So I think there will be at least two storys before the final battle: Guts gets powered up at the elf world and some side story when Guts are travelling thru Griffiths world.

Griffith was never king in beginning of the manga. That's a mistake the anime made. The lost children arc was excellent character development for Guts. I don't think there's been any side stories in Berserk, and I don't think there'll be any in the future. I'd say, for what you think are side stories, you're really just missing the awesome storytelling and development that Miura is giving us.

i wonder how grey guts hair is going to get before he exacts his revenge and thats even if he can do it. any know how old guts is now or can give me a rough estimate, am like guessing some early 40's cuz of that grey patch in his hair but thats about it.
Guts was like 19 when he joined the band of the hawk and two years have gone by in the story. So he is 21.
Guts is nine years old when Gambino tries to kill him and he runs away. He spends five years as a mercenary for whoever. He's about fourteen or fifteen when he joins the Hawks. Then there's a time skip of several years. He's about eighteen when he leaves the hawks. Timeskip another year, he rejoins at nineteen. Then the eclipse happens and he goes wandering for at least two more years. So he's 21 when he goes back to look for Caska. He's probably about 22 now in the current arc.

It seems like a lot more time has passed then just two years since Griffith beat Gutts and forced him to join the band of the hawk, and Gutts even looks a little different now. He is more mature looking. Are you sure he is only 21? I mean even from when he first joined the hawks to when he left his muscles etc got bigger. Add the year from when he left the Hawks till when he rescued Griffith and it all seems like a lot more then two years.
I think Gutts is younger then he seems cause he goes through so much, but he seems like hes at least 30.

The only way to be sure of time is to actually go by what the characters say, if the narration doesn't give us an exact number of years. There's no calender references or anything like that. When Guts goes walking the earth, Godo says something to the effect of 'it's been two years since you left' when he returns to check on Casca. He was at least eighteen or nineteen when he goes apostle hunting. Sooo... No way of being sure, but we know he's still a very young man.
And... the time he's in the hawks... well. I think they state clearly in volume five or six that it's four years between Guts' first mission as the rear guard, and his promotion to Raiders captain.. the 'Wind of Swords' Chapter. A man grows a lot between fourteen and eighteen. And he did the crazy mountain training for his year away, so no shock he came back even buffer.

Far as I know, Berserk is the only manga he's ever published. If he's working on anything else, it's under a different name.
I'd actually be alright with it if he was working on a side project. It'd be cool to see what else he's capable of.
when i searched for the author miura and came across the wikipedia page about, i did see at the bottom of the page all his works and some were done and started while he was still writting berserk, so it wouldn't suprise me if he did start something else while still coming up with the berserk story.
also the works he had started where short and completed that same year

This is like christmas for a child, but! Where is the manga??
And strange that you like the "side story" lost children story. It's the first occurence with that anoying flying elf and the story continues several books about a boring subject (the lost children).
I remember I read that arc and just wanted to get thru it because the exciting parts are griffith and the knight.
Reread Berserk is all I can say.
Just thought I should drop in and say something about rereading. It is actually better the second time you read it. but the seventh time... It get's a little repetative. Though I must say: this far, each of those rereads are better than anything else I have ever read!
I've lost count of the amount of times I've read and re-read Berserk...partly because I ran out of fingers and toes to count on...
But everytime I do read it.. I take something new from it.
It just keeps getting better.
