I've lost count of the amount of times I've read and re-read Berserk...partly because I ran out of fingers and toes to count on...

But everytime I do read it.. I take something new from it.

It just keeps getting better.

Just thought I should drop in and say something about rereading. It is actually better the second time you read it. but the seventh time... It get's a little repetative. Though I must say: this far, each of those rereads are better than anything else I have ever read!

As I stated before, you could make this, but I think it would have either no effect (do you think you are the only one writing letters?) or it would lower the quality of this manga. Please, Miura-sama has to withstand enough stress already!

when i searched for the author miura and came across the wikipedia page about, i did see at the bottom of the page all his works and some were done and started while he was still writting berserk, so it wouldn't suprise me if he did start something else while still coming up with the berserk story.

also the works he had started where short and completed that same year

This is like christmas for a child, but! Where is the manga??

And strange that you like the "side story" lost children story. It's the first occurence with that anoying flying elf and the story continues several books about a boring subject (the lost children).

I remember I read that arc and just wanted to get thru it because the exciting parts are griffith and the knight.

Far as I know, Berserk is the only manga he's ever published. If he's working on anything else, it's under a different name. I'd actually be alright with it if he was working on a side project. It'd be cool to see what else he's capable of.

The only way to be sure of time is to actually go by what the characters say, if the narration doesn't give us an exact number of years. There's no calender references or anything like that. When Guts goes walking the earth, Godo says something to the effect of 'it's been two years since you left' when he returns to check on Casca. He was at least eighteen or nineteen when he goes apostle hunting. Sooo... No way of being sure, but we know he's still a very young man. And... the time he's in the hawks... well. I think they state clearly in volume five or six that it's four years between Guts' first mission as the rear guard, and his promotion to Raiders captain.. the 'Wind of Swords' Chapter. A man grows a lot between fourteen and eighteen. And he did the crazy mountain training for his year away, so no shock he came back even buffer.
